This has some major wear and damage, lots of scuffs and grime. The cord is cracked all over and there are cracks in the aluminum handle near the switch. I believe this is from the time when Black and Decker owned Van Dorn, 1930's to 40's. I did plug this in and it did turn on and reciprocate. I did try to cut through an old coffee tin and it bent it up more than cut, it may nee new cutters or an adjustment. Thanks for looking! 051220
